"Dry"
The “Dry” series explores the conflicting theme of deadly-beauty within the rural landscapes of regional NSW and Victoria during the height of summer drought one week before the worst bushfires in Australia’s history.
Dry celebrates the ethereal beauty of soft golden earthen colours texturally via a “dry brush” technique overlaying layers of sheer watery paint application.
Like the “WET” series, “Dry” also reminds us of our relationship with the natural environment and its colours. The warm colours of the regional country landscape found in “Dry”, are grounding and beautiful, yet there is a sense of chaos inherent in the way we maintain and utilise our land expressed through juxtapositions within the colour scheme.
